Carly & Leah

25 Years of Evolution

For over two decades, we’ve poured our hearts into this corner of 10th and Milwaukee Avenue. As we celebrate 75 years of business in 2026, we are intentionally shifting our focus. We are steering away from traditional everyday retail floral arrangements to curate a space built entirely on connection—bringing together unique botanical selections, hand-chosen apparel, crystals, and wellness items that feed the soul. It’s the same legacy you’ve trusted for decades, intentionally reimagined for our community’s future.

Carly Johnson

Co-Owner & Creative Anchor

Carly is a foundational and pivotal director of our modern mission, bringing an intentional creative eye and steady dedication to the avenue. Working alongside Leah for over two decades, she has helped shepherd this space through its historic legacy while actively steering its curation toward a more meaningful, intentional future. Carly’s focus is entirely on genuine connection—ensuring every hand-selected wellness item and unique botanical element carries a sense of purpose.

Leah Minue

Co-Owner & Community Advocate

For Leah, this storefront is the heartbeat of her community work. As a parent raising three kids right here in South Milwaukee, her passion lies in cultivating spaces that connect neighbors. For over twenty years, she has guided the shop’s growth, and as the founder of the non-profit Growing South Milwaukee, she seamlessly bridges the boutique’s botanical roots with grassroots activism—spearheading everything from organic community gardens to downtown public art installations.

Growing South Milwaukee

Cultivating Our Downtown

We believe a small business should do more than just occupy a storefront—it should be a pillar for community growth. Our space serves as an active engine for Growing South Milwaukee, a non-profit dedicated to revitalizing our downtown district. Through public art initiatives like the Downtown Mural Program and sustainable, organic agriculture at our local community gardens, we are working to grow a vibrant, connected neighborhood from the roots up.

From the Roots up

Growing South Milwaukee is a community-driven movement transforming our downtown district through the power of public art and sustainable agriculture. By activating empty spaces, managing local organic community gardens, and spearheading the Downtown Mural Program, we are cultivating a vibrant, connected neighborhood from the roots up.

Public Art & Murals

We are transforming our city streets into an open-air canvas. Through intentional public art installations—like the Downtown Mural Program and the Roots of Radiance storefront activation—we aim to elevate local voices, celebrate community identity, and bring vibrant energy to our shared urban spaces.

Organic Agriculture

Revitalization starts from the ground up. Our local community gardens are run entirely on organic, sustainable practices, turning empty plots into productive green spaces. We are dedicated to providing fresh food access, teaching ecological stewardship, and nurturing a healthier environment for all our neighbors.

The Green Room: Space to Gather & Grow

True community requires a place to connect. Tucked inside our historic storefront is The Green Room—a versatile, collaborative space designed to host intimate neighborhood gatherings, creative workshops, and community empowerment sessions.

Operating as a creative incubator in collaboration with Minue Productions, the space is uniquely equipped to capture stories, amplify local artists, and elevate marginalized voices. It serves as the physical headquarters for our Growing South Milwaukee initiatives, giving local creators, advocates, and neighbors a dedicated stage to collaborate, share ideas, and bring grassroots projects to life.

Custom Sympathy Tributes & Floral Offerings

Flowers are the language we use when words aren’t enough. They are there for our deepest collective grief, our quietest morning rituals, and the everyday moments that tie us together. As our space on the avenue evolves, our devotion to these moments remains absolute. We create intentional, soulful botanical designs that honor life’s heavy milestones and celebrate the simple beauty of the everyday.

Sympathy Tributes

In the wake of loss, flowers stand as a gentle testament to a life beautifully lived. We carefully craft deeply personalized, intentional tributes and memorial arrangements, handling each piece with the reverence and tenderness your family deserves during life’s hardest transitions.

Seasonal Flowers & Subscriptions

A single bloom can shift the entire energy of a room. We invite you to bring the grounding rhythms of nature into your home through our curated seasonal arrangements and flexible floral subscriptions. No overwhelming online menus—just fresh, premium stems selected with care for your table.
